Irish historical belt, made of black leather - "Find from Legore"

Early Middle Ages 3 cm wide Irish black belt with strap end.
 
This remarkable belt with belt tongue is based on the discovery of the early medieval clasp from Lagore, which comes from Ireland and dates from the 7th to 8th centuries.
 
The original buckle from Lagore was provided with a long bridge with eyelet and measured 7,09 inch (18 cm). It was suitable for belts 0,59 inch (1.5 cm) wide.
The replica of this belt buckle, however, has larger dimensions of 4,25 x 1,65 inch (10.8 x 4.2 cm). The strap end was worked in the same style.

The Lagore belt buckle is now owned by the National Museum of Ireland.
 
The belt is long enough to be worn knotted. The belt circumference can easily be additionally reduced or enlarged with a pair of punch pliers.
