Skandinavian leather bracelets

High-quality folk art from Northern Scandinavia.
The indigenous people of Northern Scandinavia are the Saami, also known as Lapps. They still live today in large parts of Northern Scandinavia such as Sweden, Finland, Norway, and also in northern Russia. In addition to their vital reindeer herding, they still produce these beautiful leather bracelets. In doing so, they preserve a large part of their centuries-old folk art. During the Viking Age, the Saami frequently had armed conflicts with the Vikings. Later, however, trade relations with the Norsemen also flourished, exchanging important goods in the barren areas of the North.
We are pleased to offer you these beautiful leather bracelets, which have changed little in the last 1000 years. This folk art is made by painstaking hand. The bracelets are made, as they were back then, from soft goatskin and then braided with refined brass wire. The brass wire was refined by silver plating or with 9-carat gold. A white cattle bone button was sewn on to fasten the bracelet.
