Eir goddess of health and healing statue / figure, bronzed, made of polyresin
Order number: 67.652Eir is the goddess of health and healing in Norse mythology. She is considered the best healer and belongs to the Aesir, a family of Nordic deities.
In Nordic mythology, Eir is the goddess of medicine and a servant of Frigga and also one of the Valkyries. Eir's job is to instantly cure any illness that afflicts the Queen of the Gods. On Earth she taught healing arts to mortal women. She showed which herbs are suitable for healing and how best to treat wounds. She looks after those in labor and, as a Valkyrie who heals wounds and raises the dead, has control over life and death. As a giver of life, she was revered in clans and at the courts of kings. As a healer, She knows the medicinal properties of herbs and is capable of resurrection. As the decider of life and death, she is sometimes associated with the three Norns. It is appropriate not to forget this goddess and to make plenty of sacrifices to her, because it is in her power to take away any illness.
Made from artificial stone (polyresin) and bronzed and colored in detail by an artist. The figure is fully cast and not hollow and covered with real bronze.
