The Borrestil is dated to the 9th to 10th century and was named after the tomb of Borre in Vestfold / Norway.
Borre Style Viking pendant / Borrestyle, modeled after a find from Finland. Here with four animal heads and snake patterns. The 4 animal heads could also point to the seasons.
Typical for the style are animal ornaments, animal heads and knot ornaments. The Borre style is also referred to as griffon animal style and found especially in eastern Scandinavia distribution.
