Petrified fish: Dastilbe elongatus - bone fish (fossil).

This schooling fish comes from the lower Cretaceous period and has an age of approx. 110 to 125 million years. Location Brazil in the Santana Formation (Araripe Basin). The Santana Formation in Brazil formed about 90 to 110 million years ago. It contains fossils and, above all, various fossilized fish from the early Cretaceous period. The well-preserved fossilized fish and fossils found there often have a very good level of detail, which is mainly due to the rapid sedimentation and fine grain of the substrate. The Santana Formation is said to have arisen with a high probability from the deposit of calcareous sediments in a shallow inland lake. This dry lake is one of the most important fossil sites worldwide with a particularly large variety of very well preserved fossilized amphibians, reptiles (such as crocodiles and turtles), pterosaurs (Ornithocheirus / Tapejara), dinosaurs but also insects, scorpions, weaving spiders and flowering plants and Ferns!

This petrified fish is approximately 110 to 125 million years old, each piece is unique, no fossil is like the other!
