Franziska Merowinger ax
Order number: 62.063Decorative Franziska with a heavy hand-forged ax blade made of carbon steel.
The blade is sharpened. Includes wooden handle (ash wood).
It was the custom of the Germanic tribes to hurl the Franziska into the enemy ranks at the start of the battle in order to cause confusion and unrest before the actual meeting took place. But it was also used in close combat. The Franziska, like all axes and hatchets in general, was present as a practical ax in everyday life.
With the elegantly curved wooden handle and the strikingly shaped ax head, this beautiful Franziska is a real piece of jewelry. The ergonomically shaped handle of the ax provides a good grip and ensures good throwing behavior. The ax is also ideal for all common work and provides good service in the house and yard.
Not suitable for exhibition combat.
