This Viking helmet is made of iron based on an original from around 550 - 793 a.m.
A similar original helmet was found at Gjermundbu in Norway and is now in the National Museum of Antiquities in Oslo.
The helmet is part of a large grave find from the Vendel period (550 - 793 AD) in Norway.
Our helmet fits in everybody up to the hat size of 25,2 inch (64 cm). This helmet has a material thickness of 0,08 inch (2 mm) and can bear strongest sword strokes. It has an adjustable lining made of leather and a leather chinstrap.
A great chain network is at the helmet in the well-known web kind of "4 rings in one" according to the medieval coats of chain-mail all around.
Total amount of the helmet from bottom edge "tip of the nose" up to the spot top is inside 12,6 inch (32 cm) and the helmet breadth 8,27 inch (21 cm) (from ear to ear).
The helmet weighs leather lining and chain guard, incl. approx. 6,13 lbs (2.78 kg.)
