Mother Earth Mother - Mother Goddess Earth Goddess Erce, bronzed figure / statue
All-Mother, Earth Mother - Mother Goddess Earth Goddess Erce
She is also called Erce, Erce eorþan módor (Earth Mother).
Her name is probably of Indo-European origin "Plth₂uih₂ meh₂tēr" = Earth Mother: ancient Indian: Prthivī mātā.
Primordial mother, mother of nature and earth, queen of the immortals and the dead. She is therefore also considered a manifestation of all goddesses and gods.
Their origins lie far in the past, long before the Germanic peoples knew of anthropomorphic gods.
She is the mother of all life and mistress of all elements; she is the earth from which the source of life comes. She gives strength and life to nature, people, animals, and plants.
She is the personified Earth and is considered one of the first deities. In Greek mythology, she is known as Gaia (Ge). Her name suggests the word "birthing one," in reference to life.
As the world, nature, and earth goddess, as Gaia, she is THE self-fertilizing primordial mother. All life born of and through the earth is supplied with water and food by Erce.
