Yule candlestick / traditional candlestick - family candlestick white - ceramic

Untreated white natural clay. The Yule candlestick was newly manufactured from ceramic based on faithful original designs.

The heart symbol serves to evoke the life force, and the Hagal rune (Younger Futhark) initially symbolizes hail and snow, and in a deeper sense, according to the fundamental existential law that the event patterns of the past shape the present (in the image of the all-ravaging hail that, after melting, refreshes and releases the green land). Thus, Hagal symbolizes the energies that originated in the past and continue to have an effect in the present.
In ancient times, the solstice ceremony was performed as follows: During a certain period (of varying lengths regionally) before the winter solstice on December 21st, the stub of the previous year's candle (which had to be kept in a special container throughout the year) was placed in the candlestick. The sun, which had not yet turned over, was symbolized by the projection of light from a heart and a rune in the room. The light must never go out. On the night of December 21st, the burning candle was placed on the candlestick – the sun had turned over, had, as the saying goes, passed over itself. The candle then remained on the candlestick for a varying length of time (also regionally), in the Alpine region usually until after the Twelve Days of Christmas (January 6th). The stub of the last candle remained in that special place to illuminate the next solstice.
Its shape symbolizes the Midnight Mountain. Through the migrations of peoples, the custom of placing a small light beneath the candelabra as a symbol of the departing year spread from East Frisia far into Scandinavia. At the solstice, the time of the returning light, a candle is lit on the candelabra as a symbol of the victory of light over darkness, but also as a symbol of the eternal cycle of birth and death.
The Yule candlestick is new and was made from natural white clay according to original designs.
These are brand new, handmade items.
Suitable for 2 cm thick wick candles or tea lights!

The width of the Yule candlesticks is approximately 11-12 cm, the height approximately 22 cm.

Very limited edition.
