A knarr (also knorr) is a Viking cargo sailing ship that was wider, shorter, and generally more robust than the well-known longships. Knarrs were very sturdy and seaworthy vessels designed for trade and long sea voyages.

The model resembles the knarr found near the village of Skuldelev in Denmark, which became known as Skuldelev I. The original was built in Norway between 1030 and 1050. It was constructed primarily of oak and spruce wood. The ship was approximately 16.3 meters long and had a displacement of about 24 tons.
