Like a Norse saga, this Viking tale begins and ends in the most stylish manner. What lies in between, however, is anything but solemn; instead, it's exciting and a delightful read. Spears, axes, and human lives are treated with little regard for the characters' bon vivants, as long as the food-loving, drink-loving, and love-filled heroes have their fun! The story begins like this: Orm, the mother's youngest son, spoiled and hypochondriacal, is kidnapped by marauding neighboring Vikings. The Moors capture the ship on which the Norsemen sail to Spain for their annual raid. Unfortunately, one day the Vikings find themselves forced to slay one of their Moorish adversaries and must therefore flee—not without leaving behind sincere apologies to the Caliph of Cordoba...
