Rabbit Easter bunny for the Ostara Easter festival, ceramic figure

Ceramic rabbit / Easter bunny

For Easter decorations.
For many centuries, particularly in Germanic mythology, the rabbit has been considered a symbol of fertility. It is one of the first animals to have offspring in the spring. The rabbit was also considered a companion and messenger of the fertility goddess Ostara. For this reason, the rabbit is also a popular symbol when baking Easter pastries.
Easter, Várblót (spring festival), is also referred to as Sigrblót (victory festival) because light and warmth have triumphed over the icy giants of winter. Following the lunar calendar, the Easter festival is celebrated on the first full moon of the 4th lunar month, calculated based on the 28-day month in the lunar calendar!
The annual Easter festival is celebrated at the equinox from March 20th to March 21st.
With her light and warmth, Ostara symbolizes the returning, radiant sun after the long, dark winter period.
