Himalayan salt, 25 kg bag
This crystal salt was formed by the drying up of a primeval sea more than 22 million years ago.
Origin: The Salt Range is located in the Punjab province in northern Pakistan; this is 200-300 kilometers south of the Himalayan mountain range. The massive salt deposit, lying at a depth of 400-600 meters, belongs to the southwestern foothills of the Himalayas. This Salt Range was formed by the active overthrusting of sedimentary sequences in the Himalayan foreland. Geologically speaking, the Salt Range is therefore part of the growing Himalayan mountain system. The Himalayan mountain range was formed during the Tertiary period due to continental drift.
