Irish historical belt, leather, brown - "Legore find"
Early medieval Irish belt, 3 cm wide, with strap end - brown.
This remarkable belt with a strap end is based on the discovery of the early medieval Lagore buckle, which originated in Ireland and dates to the 7th to 8th centuries.
The original Lagore buckle had a long bar with an eyelet and measured 18 cm. It was suitable for belts 1.5 cm wide.
The replica of this belt buckle, however, has larger dimensions of 10.8 x 4.2 cm. The end of the strap was crafted in the same style.
.
Lagore's belt buckle is now in the possession of the National Museum of Ireland.
The belt is long enough to be worn knotted. The belt circumference can easily be further reduced or increased using a belt hole punch.
