War god "Tyr" with Fenris wolf - figure / statue, bronzed

Tyr with the bound Fenris wolf. The more Fenris tugged at the fetter, the tighter it became. The wolf remained bound, but then bit off Tyr's right hand, which he had placed in Fenris's mouth as a pledge.
Thus, the world of the gods was saved by the god Tyr, who was known as both the god of war and of the Thing assembly.
Tyr is Odin's favorite son and the foster son of the giant Hymer. Tyr is also known for his sense of justice, for which he fought and is therefore also considered a god of war.
In Norwegian and Danish, Tuesday is called Tirsdag. The day of Tyr!
Tyr (Gothic Tiwaz; Old English Tig; Old High German Ziu, Tiu or Zio, Old Saxon Tiw; Old Norse Týr) is the sky god and the god of war, and at the same time he is the supreme commander of the Einherjar, Odin's fighting force, and thus a military leader in Asgard. As the patron god of the Thing, he is also responsible for justice and righteousness.
