The triskele, also known as the triskel ("three-legged"), is a Celtic symbol in the form of three running legs arranged in an equilateral triangle, or more generally, open spirals.
In general, this symbol, for which historical examples can be found in places like Newgrange in Ireland, is associated with pagan triad symbolism. Little is known about the original meaning of the triskele spirals. It is often assumed – as with most spiral forms – that they represent the journey of life (sun symbol).
