Thor, who was the strongest of all Old Norse gods, was held in high esteem. As the god of storms and lightning, Thor slew trolls and man-eating giants and ensured good harvests.
Thor, son of Odin and Jord, was given two sons, Magni and Modi, by his consort, the giantess Jarnsaxa.
Thor rules in the hall Bilskirnir, his palace in the realm of Thrudheim, and he proudly carries his hammer Mjölnir. The "Thor's hammer" was once forged by the dwarves Sindri and Brokk.
Thor draws his strength from his belt Megingjardar and his iron gauntlets Jarngreipr.
Just as today, the Thor's hammer was worn for many centuries by pagan people for protection against danger. The Thor's hammer is THE symbol of the pagan faith.
