Thor's hammer with Thor's head, bronze
Thor's Hammer with Thor's Head, made of Bronze
Thor, who was the strongest of all the Old Norse gods, was greatly revered. God of storms and lightning, Thor slew trolls and man-eating giants, and ensured good harvests.
Thor, son of Odin and Jörð, had two sons, Magni and Móði, with his wife, the giantess Járnsaxa.
Thor rules in the hall Bilskirnir, his palace in the realm of Thrudheim, and he proudly carries his hammer Mjölnir. The "Thor's Hammer" was once forged by the dwarves Sindri and Brokk.
Thor derives his strength from his belt Megingjörð and his iron gloves Járngreipr.
Just as today, Thor's Hammer was worn for many centuries by pagan people for protection from danger. Thor's Hammer is THE symbol of the pagan faith.
