Thor's Hammer - Norseman Bronze Pendant
Norse Thor's Hammer
Thor, who was the strongest of all Old Norse gods, was highly revered. God of storms and lightning, Thor slew trolls and man-eating giants, and ensured good harvests.
Thor, son of Odin and Jord, was blessed with two sons, Magni and Modi, by his consort, the giantess Jarnsaxa.
Thor rules in the hall of Bilskirnir, his palace in the realm of Thrudheim, and he proudly carries his hammer Mjölnir. The "Thor's Hammer" was once forged by the dwarves Sindri and Brokk.
Thor draws his strength from his belt Megingjardar and his iron gauntlets Jarngreipr.
Just as today, the Thor's Hammer was worn for many centuries by pagan people for protection against danger. The Thor's Hammer is THE symbol of the pagan faith.
Ornaments are located on the front and back of the pendant.
