Valkyrie, bronze-colored

Valkyria is the Old Norse word for Valkyries. "Wal" means "pile of slain" and "kyria" means "chooser". These warrior women are both Odin's helpers and his daughters. They fulfill the Allfather's wishes, choose the warriors who fall in battle, and bring them to him. The Valkyries can also intervene in battles and determine fate. The function of the Valkyries is therefore similar to that of the three Norns. It is believed that the youngest Norn, Skuld, was also a Valkyrie.
Like the Einherjar, the warrior women live in Valhalla. Their residence in Valhalla is Wingolf, the Hall of Friendship.
The Vikings saw the Northern Lights as a sign of the Valkyries' presence on Earth. They believed that a great battle had been fought somewhere on Earth. The moon reflected the golden armor of the Valkyries as they rode over the battlefield and selected the Einherjar. This is how the Northern Lights were conjured into the sky.

Crafted and cast from polyresin (artificial stone). The figure is solid, not hollow, and coated with real bronze.
