Werewolves and the parallels to Hermann Löns' novel "Werewolf"!
In his novel "The Werewolf," the patriotic heathland poet Hermann Löns describes the underground struggle of Captain "Wolf," who, during the Thirty Years' War, is said to have defended himself and a group of heathland farmers against certain Christian henchmen. His exceptional, tenacious determination and fighting spirit, like a werewolf (or "Wehrwolf" - spelled with an "h"), gave rise to the name of the resistance group. Hermann Löns symbolized this struggle with the Wolfsangel, also known as the Gibor rune. Hermann Löns' gravestone is a large boulder with the inscription "Here rests Hermann Löns," and below it, also carved, a Wolfsangel.
