"Viking" smoked salt - Kastaine (fine), glass jar with cork - 70 g.
Viking Smoked Salt from Denmark
For barbecue evenings, festive tables, Germanic weddings - Germanic wedding traditions.
Smoked salt as a gift idea for marriage / marital rites.
Aromatic smoke, fire, intense seasoning – these are the impressions conveyed by the appearance and aroma of what is arguably the most exquisite Danish smoked salt variant available today.
Incidentally, only about 5% of all smoked salt types are genuinely smoked. Most smoked salts are infused with smoke flavorings.
Our smoked salt is made exclusively from Dead Sea salt and smoked in the Viking manner – over low-pollutant Danish chestnut wood.
Salt smoked with chestnut wood is popular with many of our customers because its many aromatic nuances make it soft on the palate and savory in taste. The salt is smoked at 65 - 85 degrees in a lengthy and costly process in specially developed ovens.
Using this salt gives a glimpse into how the Nordic peoples obtained their salt. Seawater or brine was poured onto burning logs. The water evaporated, and the precipitated salt adhered to the charred logs. The salt was scraped off the wood and could be used.
Viking Smoked Salt is excellent for:
Eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, fish, and all kinds of meat. It gives steak its special taste of meat cooked over fire – even if it's prepared in the oven.
Its shelf life is almost unlimited. The salt container should always be well sealed to prevent the smoke aroma from being lost.
This smoked salt contains no anti-caking agents, flavor enhancers, or other added substances. 6% Na, 13% K, 9% Mg0., 4% Ca, 46% Cl0, 5% Br0, 4% Carbonate, smaller amounts of Ammonium, Sr, Mn, Fe, F, I, Sulfate
The fine grain of the salt crystals is approx. 0.5 - 1 mm thick.
