Nutcracker "Fly Agaric" - beechwood

Among the Germanic peoples, the fly agaric was associated with "Wotan", the god of ecstasy.

According to ancient legends and sagas, fly agaric mushrooms grew everywhere that saliva and foam dripped from the mouth of Wotan's horse "Sleipnir" onto the earth when he rode across Midgard during the wild hunt at the winter solstice. The fly agaric is also said to have been significantly responsible for the famous-infamous rages of the berserkers, who fell into uncontrollable frenzy in battle while in ecstasy.
