Nutcracker - Mushroom, also cracks very hard nuts, beech wood

Decorative nutcracker in the shape of a porcini mushroom - made from beech wood. Cracking hazelnuts and walnuts becomes child's play for adults and children...
The nut no longer slips when cracking, and shell fragments don't fly around, as the coarse screw thread ensures controlled cracking of the nut.

The Porcini Mushroom in Mysticism:
Porcini mushrooms, as well as other mushrooms, can grow in a circle. In folklore, these circles are called witch rings or fairy rings.
The root system of the mushrooms forms in such a way that the mushroom fruiting bodies form a circle or settle in a circular pattern.
In some places, these mushroom rings are still considered meeting places for fairies or so-called witches.

Witch or Fairy Rings in Superstition and Folk Tradition:
In the formation of mushroom circles, the mushroom root system first grows outwards in a circle, which then allows the fruiting bodies (mushrooms) to grow on the outer edge of the circle.
In popular belief, these witch rings were and still are considered mystical gathering places for witches or fairies. Entering the circles is said to have magical effects and is therefore considered forbidden.

In the fairy or elf ring, some believe, fairies or elves dance their spiritual round dance at midnight...
(To avoid slipping into the realm of fairies and elves, it is considered forbidden in superstition to enter the fairy ring)

Karl Bartsch published in his work "Albrecht von Halberstadt and Ovid in the Middle Ages" an attempt to reconstruct ancient folk traditions, in which, among other things, forest women (Waltfrouwen) danced and sang in sacred groves in a ring-dance. These forest women could have been wise women with a fairy-like aura, who were later called witches.
The spiritual "occult" dances in mushroom rings (elf rings) will have had a special nature-religious significance here - in which both the fly agaric and the porcini mushroom were particularly considered in shamanic rituals by the "wise women" (fairies, elves, elves as light figures).

Crack nuts with little effort: Very suitable for children and seniors due to the larger head diameter

  • Handmade
  • Decorative and useful
  • Made from solid, local beech wood
  • Smooth-running due to oiled screw thread
With our handy mushroom-shaped nutcracker, all nuts can be cracked. Whether you prefer to eat walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds or macadamia nuts - This mushroom also cracks nuts with very hard shells.
Simply place the desired nut in the wooden mushroom, place your palm in front of the opening and turn the mushroom head. By covering the opening, the shells do not fly wildly around the room. Also suitable for children and seniors: due to the force exerted by the wooden screw, nuts can be cracked without much effort. Another great advantage of our nutcracker is that even with inattention, no fingers or skin are pinched.
The nutcrackers are made from local beech wood and then oiled. Due to the high-quality oiling, this nutcracker can also be used as a decoration. Beech, as a hardwood, is particularly durable and well suited for kitchen and household items. If the thread becomes difficult to turn or squeaks, you can simply apply a drop of sunflower oil to it.
Even the youngest among us can, thanks to the larger head and ergonomic shape, easily crack nuts or use the nutcracker to craft animals from chestnuts. The front opening, approx. 4 cm in size, allows you to clamp chestnuts to drill a hole in them.

Our tip: Place the most stubborn nuts in the freezer for an hour or in water overnight before cracking. This will make the shell easier to crack. Promised! Another advantage: you usually get whole halves.

The "Porcini Mushroom" nutcracker has the following dimensions:

  • Size: approx. 10 x 6.5 cm
  • Weight: approx. 110 g.
  • At the end of the screw thread there is a metal insert for reinforcement to protect the wooden screw.
  • The metal insert makes cracking nuts an absolute breeze!
  • Nordwelt - Recommendation! A nice gift idea - not just for Yule.

Macadamia nuts are considered the hardest nuts in the world and CANNOT be cracked with this nutcracker.

Suitable for children from 3 years.
Our tip: Place the most stubborn nuts in the freezer for an hour or in water overnight before cracking. This will make the shell easier to crack. Promised! Another advantage: you usually get whole halves.
